The world’s largest collection of paintings by one of Britain’s most celebrated artists, J.M.W. Turner, has been rejoined by Mark Rothko’s Seagram murals.Intended as objects of contemplation, these nine abstract paintings were donated to Tate by the artist due to his deep affection for British art, especially Turner.
