Tate Annual Report for 2016/17 Published

Tate recently published its Annual Report for 2016/17. The opening of the Blavatnik Building in June 2016, which firmly established Tate Modern as one of the world’s greatest buildings for art in the twenty-first century, was celebrated and attracted over a million visitors in the first month and a record 6.4 million visitors over the year. Tate recorded outstanding visitor figures overall – 8.4 million across its four sites – the most in a single year. At Tate Britain, David Hockney was the second most popular show in Tate’s history after Matisse: The Cut-Outs, drawing in 478,082 visitors.
